CHARLESTON - Rosa Mae Herring Maxcy, 93, died Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Tallahatchie General Hospital in Charleston. She was born Aug. 9, 1917, in Darling to William Bayless and Rosa Ann Pearson Herring. She was a librarian, a homemaker and a member of Pope Baptist Church. She lived in Enid and was formerly of Lambert.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wells Funeral Home with Dr. Gary Berry officiating and Rev. Roger Richards assisting. Burial will follow in Forrest Memorial Park. Wells Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter, Eleanor Maxcy Bailey (Glenn) of Enid; her sons, William E. Maxcy Jr. (Betsy) of Tupelo and Phillip L. Maxcy (Patsy) of Enid; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Edward Maxcy; four brothers and two sisters.

Pallbearers will be Victor G. Bailey Jr., Eric Brown, Matthew Hale, Jason Nabors, Jimmy Bailey and Frank Herring.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
