Mrs. Lottie L. Avant Hanna, wife of Jesse L. Hanna, of the Leo community near Lake City, died at home Wednesday, March 24, 1965.

Mrs. Hanna was born March 29, 1892, in Georgetown County. She was a daughter of Edward J. Avant and Hannah Cribb Avant. She had lived near Lake City fifty years. She attended Liberty Baptist Church.

She was survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Cleo McAlister of Lake City; three sons, Edward L. Hanna, Allen Hanna, and Johnny Hanna, all of Lake City; three brothers, Willie Avant of Hartsville, Jackson Avant of Andrews, Walter Avant of Red Springs, N. C.; three sisters, Mrs. Lonne Swails of Saint Matthews, Mrs. Della Player of Andrews, and Mrs. Frank Hughes of Murrells Inlet; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Friday, March 26, 1965, in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Hemingway. The Rev. William S. Rollins and the Rev. Floyd Ard officiated. Burial followed in Old Bethany Cemetery near Hemingway.
