Alfred was the son of George & Nancy (Hill) Wilderman. He married Rachel A. Tate 12 Mar 1850 in St. Clair County, IL.


Obituary:

Alfred C. Wilderman, one of the oldest and most highly-respected residents of this county, died at his home, three miles south of Freeburg, at 10:30 o'clock Wednesday morning, aged 78 years.

Deceased was born in this county on October 5, 1824, Fifty-three years ago he was united in marriage with Miss Rachael Tate. Three years ago the couple celebrated their golden wedding.

He leaves, besides his widow, two sons, Lyman T. Wilderman and Alfred Wilderman, Jr., also one daughter, Mrs. Julius Huff of Belleville. Two brothers, Calvin Wilderman of Belleville, and Albert Wilderman of Turkey Hill also survive him.

The funeral takes place at 10 o'clock Friday morning to the Stuntz Cemetery.
