According to the death certificate for her husband, which can be seen at Familysearch.org, he appears to have gone by Ellis McDonald. The only place I see him as "Elias" is on his headstone. He was a potter by trade. His wife on his death certificate is listed as "Angeline." I don't see her listed as "Alice" anywhere except for her death notice.
