The Hartford Republican (Hartford, Kentucky), 17 Aug 1900, Fri
Mr. C. T. Baird, a former citizen of this place died in Louisville last Saturday afternoon of dropsy. Mr. Baird was appointed clerk in the Auditor's office under D. Howard Smith, several years ago. He afterward moved to Louisville and engaged in the insurance business, in which he arose rapidly to distinction. On account of ill health he was transferred to New Orleans and placed at the head of the branch office there. Mr. Baird was a brother of Dr. A. B. Baird, now of Oklahoma, also of Mrs. Gen. Sam. E. Hill, Lexington. Many friends here receive the news of his death in sadness.
