Mr. Grubb moved to Decatur from Cerro Gordo in 1925. He was formerly a truck foreman and mechanic and was employed by Wilson & Co. for 13 years. He also worked at Chastain Construction Co.
He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and Teamsters & Chauffers Local 279.
Mr. Grubb served in the U.S. Navy from 1916 to 1920.
He was born in Macon County, a son of George W. and Marie Hathaway Grubb.
He married Hattie Walden March 17, 1931 in Jacksonville.
Mr. Grubb leaves his wife; one son, Earl, Argenta; one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Viola) Good, Lovington; five grandchildren. Two brothers, five sisters and a son preceded him in death.
Requiem High Mass and Holy Communion will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. James Catholic Church.
The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday by members of St. James Catholic Church in J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park.
