HATTERAS - Ronald Radcliff Stowe, Jr., 65, died April 8 at a Greenville hospital.
He is survived by his mother, Octavia Styron Stowe and father Ronald Radcliff Stowe, Sr. of Hatteras; two daughters: Mija Derring of White Plains, N.Y and Jeanine Weiss of Corono, Calif.; and longtime family friend, Helen Lane of Goldsboro.
He was born at Hatteras. After early school he attended Raleigh School for the Blind for four years and transferred to the New York School for the Blind for three more years.
College years were at Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y. and Adelphi College , Garden City, N.Y.
His career was in social services at the New York Youth Board, Beth Israel Hospital and Mt. Vernon Hospital. Upon retirement he made his home in the Philippines for four years. At the time of his death he was residing in Goldsboro.
Friends are invited to the home of his parents for a memorial service on Saturday, April 27 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Holt Clark will officiate.
