MR. W. S. ADAMS PASSES AT SCOTLAND
Mr. W. S. Adams, 69, one of Telfair County's most prominent citizens, died at his home in Scotland last Sunday morning, his death having resulted from a heart attack which he suffered the day before. Mr. Adams was for many years associated with the late R. L. Kinchen in the mercantile business in Scotland, which firm did one of the most extensive supply businesses in this part of the state. He grew up in old Montgomery County, now Wheeler, coming from one of the oldest and best known families of this community. He was prominent in business and political activities, serving on the school board and was at one time county commissioner. At the time of his death he was a member of the board of equalizers of Telfair County. He was a member of the Scotland Methodist Church and lent his best effort in the erection of Scotland's modern brick church. He was also a member of the Masonic order. Besides his wife he is survived by a stepson; Preston Clements, of Scotland; three brothers, N. J. Adams, of Hastings Florida, C. L. Adams, of Lake Charles, La. (article only listed two brothers); three sister, Mrs. A. M. Keen, Mrs. H. A. Morrison and Mrs. C. D. Armstrong of Glenwood. Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon at three o'clock, conducted by his pastor, Rev. C. A. Morrison, with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, McRae. Pall bearers wee: D. B. Graham, H. L. Brett, C. A. Ryals, W. C. Jones, J. Hobson Walker, T. Norfleet, G. P. Flanders. Harris and Smith Funeral home McRae in charge.
