She was a native and lifelong resident of Hatteras and a member of Hatteras United Methodist Church.
She was the daughter of the late William W. and Mrs. Courtney Austin Gaskill and wife of the late Ulysses Stowe.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Brittie Burrus of Buxton and Mrs. Zilpah Austin of Hatteras; one son, William Monroe Stowe of Hatteras; eight grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Friday in the Hatteras United Methodist Church by Rev. Jessie Staton, pastor, assisted by Rev. John Spry of the Assembly of God in Buxton. Burial was in the family cemetery at Frisco.
