Daniel, born in Durham, CT, Aug. 4, 1755, took the oath of fidelity there Dec. 8, 1778, and continued to reside in Durham until 1789, when he and some of his neighbors removed with their families to Greene Co., NY, where he appears of Freehold, NY, in the U. S. Census of 1790, as head of a family of two males over sixteen years, one male under sixteen years, and four females. On Nov. 7, 1800, Daniel Coe of Freehold, NY, sold land in Durham, CT, to Joel Coe. (Land Records of Durham, Conn., vol. 12, p. 297.) He located in that part of Freehold later established as the town of Durham, NY, where he united with the Presbyterian church on Nov. 15, 1801, and died Oct. 28, 1820.
He married MARTHA, who was admitted to the Presbyterian church at Durham, NY, in Aug. 1801. They had 6 children:
