John Fa(u)lkner was the third son of Murry Cuthbert and Maud Butler Falkner and a brother of William Faulkner. When John began to write he added a "u" to his surname as his brother had done. John published several novels and a biographical rememberance: MEN WORKING (1941), DOLLAR COTTON (1942), CHOOKY (1950), CABIN ROAD (1951), UNCLE GOOD'S GIRL (1952), THE SIN SHOUTER OF CABIN ROAD (1955), AIN'T GONNA RAIN NO MORE (1959), UNCLE GOOD'S WEEKEND PARTY (1960) and MY BROTHER BILL (1963). In addition to being a writer, John did a series of paintings which he called his Vanishing South Series. He wrote a short narrative to go along with each of the paintings.
