Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley. Pastor Chuck Maney will officiate. Burial will be at Valley Memorial Park, Spring Valley.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services in the funeral home. American Legion will conduct services at 10:30 a.m. Mr. Boo-ker was born Aug. 14, 1918, in Spring Valley to George and Kat-herine (Perrero) Booker. He married Bernice Smaley on July 1, 1950, in Bloomington.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II from 1942-1945 and was a salesman for Western Sand and Gravel in Spring Valley from 1938 until his retirement in 1983.
He was a member of Spring Valley American Legion, Spring Valley United Church of Christ and Peru Acacia S.M. Dalzell Masonic Lodge 67. In 1960, he was accepted into the Supreme Council 33rd Degree of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite.
Survivors are one niece, Jeanette Coughlin of Spring Valley; three great-nephews, Eric and Shane Coughlin and Dwayne Booker; three great-nieces, Diana Coleman, Dolores Foote and Linda Sue Gibson.
He was preceded in death by his wife on June 9, 1993; one brother, John Booker; and one nephew, Wayne Booker.
Memorials may be directed to the Spring Valley public library or Illinois Veterans Home at La Salle.
