Larry Horace Spivey, age 65, of Douglas, GA passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Kindred Hospital, Green Cove Springs, FL, following an extended illness. Mr. Spivey was born on May 10, 1945 to the late Horace Mathew and Martha Virginia Carter Spivey in Bacon County, GA.
Mr. Spivey was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict having served in the Army.
Funeral services were held on Friday, May 6, 2011 in the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with burial in the Douglas City Cemetery.
Survivors include: wife: Cheryl Bailey Spivey, Douglas, GA; sons: Andy Spivey and Richard Spivey both of Douglas, GA; brother: Ron Spivey, Blackshear, GA; sisters: Virginia Spivey, Douglas, GA; Gennette Jowers, Columbia, SC; Darrell Steed, Nicholls, Ga; Vonda Dixon, Alma, GA; several nieces and nephews.
