Obituary for Robert S. Valentine from the Frederick Post of Thursday, April 30, 1959:
"Robert S. Valentine died at 7:45 this morning at his home at Keysville, aged 84 years. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Valentine. His wife, Mrs. Emma Pittinger Valentine, died eleven years ago. He had been in declining health for several years. He is survived by a son, Carroll R. Valentine, Taneytown; a sister, Miss Cotta Valentine, Rocky Ridge, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Keysville Lutheran Church and some years ago served on the church council and had been a member of the building committee when the church was built. The body is at the funeral home of C. O. Fuss and Son, Taneytown, where friends may call from seven to nine p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held there Saturday afternoon at two o'clock with his pastor, Rev. Donald C. Brake, officiating. Burial will be in Keysville Cemetery."

Mr. Valentine was the husband of the late Emma Prittenger (sic) Valentine. Rev. Donald Brake conducted the funeral service. Pallbearers were: Carroll Kiser, Lloyd Wilhide, Roger Devilbiss, Paul Devilbiss, Norman Houck, and Norman Baumgardner. Interment was in Keysville Cemetery."
