Zella was born to August Henry and Sarah Bullock Bissegger.

Her siblings are:
Margaret May died as a baby;
August John m. N. Chugg;
Sara Elizabeth m. S. Larson [she made great ice cream!];
Vera Louise m. C. Mohr;
Lola Ann m. J. Skabelund;
Joseph Tillman died as a baby;
Nellie Elida m. P. Petersen;
Bernice m. A. Nielsen;
and Afton Nadia

She married Carl Max Troels Fonnesbeck 1 March 1911. They had five sons: Max, Tillman (my father), Delbert, Evan, and Reed.

Max taught her to fish at the Third Dam - he used to tell us that eventually she was a better fisherman than he! She really enjoyed to fish. I believe the enjoyment she shared with Grandpa was also shared with her sons. I know my father enjoyed fishing.

She could bake wonderful pies--the best banana cream pie and crust I have ever tasted. Her butter pickles have no equal--I just was not wise enough to learn how to make them. Dad would tell us that she also made doughnuts to die for!

She had a laugh and sense of humor which was wonderfully wicked and clever. How I miss her. (pfp)
