Aunt Rose lived a hard life. She worked hard helped raise her siblings Veronica and Michael, my dad. Rose married Bill and the had a daughter Marilyn and three boys Richard, Edward and Paul. In 1970 Richard went to the Viet Nam war and was killed. Distraught after the funeral a couple of weeks later Edward was out with friends, riding around, when the car swerved off the road and hit a guard rail, instantly killing him. This was a tragedy for the family. Before Rose died she lost her husband and constant sweet daughter Marilyn to cancer. She herself died of cancer that started in the thigh. She came to visit me in Arizona in 1987. We went to the Grand Canyon, as everyone likes to do when they come to Arizona, as she and my son were exiting from the passenger side of the vehicle my then 6 year ran from the vehicle and towards the Canyon, Rose caught him in the nick of time and saved him from going over.
