Lorenza McNair was the son of Abraham and Martha Walker McNair. He was reared in a Christian home and was one of five children to reach adulthood, Alice, Abraham Jr., Curtis and Fred. He received his education in Plymouth, North Carolina.

Lorenza honorably served his country during WWII. He was in the U.S. Navy from November 1939 to November 1945. He found the love of his life Clara Arnold and they married February 25, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York. He and Clara enjoyed over fifty years of marriage until God called Clara home on September 6, 1995.

Lorenza moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and continued to serve our government as a Postal Service worker for the next 30 years. He retired from the U.S. Post Office as a driver in June 1976.

Lorenza was always jolly and had a smile that could warm any crowd. He departed this life on Friday, December 23, 2005 at 1:06 pm at Kaiser Hospital in Oakland, California.
