George was born on December 11, 1920 to the Late Anna Lee Dorsey and the Late Edward Colbert. He was a native and resident of Plaquemine, Louisiana. On September 26, 1942, he married Hazel M. Hereford. To this marriage, one daughter was born, the Late Carol Ann Colbert Brown. George was a retired employee of Wilbert & Sons.

Parker, Lee Anna Adams, and Lillie Mae Hargrove; one aunt, Maria Brown; two sisters-in-law; Ruby Scott and Francis Battiste; one devoted nephew - Robert Lee Rankin; one foster son, Hubert Pierce, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
