GEORGE COLBERT passed on Saturday, the 27th day of April, 1996 at River West Medical Center.

George was born on December 11, 1920 to the Late Anna Lee Dorsey and the Late Edward Colbert. He was a native and resident of Plaquemine, Louisiana. On September 26, 1942, he married Hazel M. Hereford. To this marriage, one daughter was born, the Late Carol Ann Colbert Brown. George was a retired employee of Wilbert & Sons.

We remember George for the laughter he brought to our lives. For those who shared momemts with him, knew, he would find a way to bring a smile to our faces. For a merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Hazel Mae Hereford Colbert, six grandchildren, Terry Wayne, Charles, Charlene Denise, Romalus, Dantee' and Kelli; two great grandchildren; three sisters; Hilda M. Parker, Lee Anna Adams, and Lillie Mae Hargrove; one aunt, Maria Brown; two sisters-in-law; Ruby Scott and Francis Battiste; one devoted nephew - Robert Lee Rankin; one foster son, Hubert Pierce, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Anna Lee Dorsey and Edward Colbert; daughter, Carol Ann Colbert Brown and his brother.
