Age 80 of Lake Odessa, MI and Tarpin Springs, FL died Thursday January 7, 1982 at Lansing hospital. Mr. Calcott, known as "Red" or "Cal" was an industrial sales engineer for Consumers Power Co until his retirement in 1966. He had left the company during WWII to serve as a foreman at the Nash-Kalvinator Plant, then owned and operated a restaurant supply business on North Cedar Street in Lansing before returning to Consumers Power Co.

Mr. Calcott was born in Youngstown, Ohio on April 11, 1901 to Howard and Mary Dugan Calcott. His mother and younger brother John died while he was a young child. His father then married Belle Wilson of Lake Odessa.After moving to Lake Odessa, Mr Calcott met the former Mary Ernestine Hess of Clarksville who became his beloved life partner and who survives him. Their union produced 4 children: John of Lake Odessa; Mrs. Jack (Doris) Lambert of Lake Odessa, Lois Calcott of Lansing, and Marilyn West of Mt. Hermon, MAss. In addition, Mr. Calcott was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

An avid fisherman all his life, like his father before him, Mr. Calcott spent many happy hours fishing the Jordan Lake at Lake Odessa and the Gulf of Mexico at Tarpin Springs. He was a Past Master of the Masonic Lodge of Lansing.

Services will be held on Sunday January 10 at 2 pm at the Pickens-Koop Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa. The family will also receive guests at the chapel on Friday and Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. private interment will be held on Monday January 11 at the Lake Odessa Cemetery.
