Mrs. Bacon was a native of Washington County and daughter of the late Toney & Nellie Norton Blankenship. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bacon was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
She was a homemaker and retired from the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Bacon was a member of East Watauga Avenue Baptist Church. She was a member of Leesburg Ruritan.
Survivors include her husband, Henry Bacon, Jonesborough; son and daughter-in-law, John & Angela Hilbert IV, Johnson City; step daughter and step son-in-law, Suprena & David Shell, Jonesborough; grandchildren, Eric Hilbert, Mollie Hilbert, Jo Ann Shell and Courtney Shell; brothers & sisters, Ola Dishman, Kate Cox, Linda Edminsten (Mack), Jan Wishon (Rusty), Richard Blankenship, Cecil Blankenship (Lilia), Jess Blankenship (Ann); and several nephews & nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2010, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Dickenson officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday prior to the service. Interment services will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews.
