Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Summers Funeral Home with the Rev. Father George Mauck presiding. The body will be cremated. Interment of ashes will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Vincennes, Ind.
Mr. Birkofer was born Feb. 6, 1899, in Vincennes, the son of John and Amelia (Pomil) Birkofer.
He was a retired lineman and installer for General Telephone Co. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney and the Olney Moose Lodge.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Juanita Birkofer, Lawrencevi11e and several nieces and nephews, including Robert Birkofer, Robinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents two brothers and three sisters.
