Uncle Edward entered the US Army Air Corps 19 Jan 1943 & was discharged 15 Dec 1945. He became an "engineer/tail gunner". There is a photo of him along with the rest of his crew and their airplane dated Feb 1945 at the following website: http://www.footnotelibrary.com/s.php#query=
bristow&offset=2&preview=1&t=495. Their B-17 airplane was called the "Starduster" at this point in the war. They were a part of the 390th Bomb Group, 568th Bomb Squadron.
