MR. JOHN DEVANE, 74, SCHLEY NATIVE, DIES
Mrs. W.H. Oliver received word last week of the death of her uncle, Mr. John A. DeVane, 74, a native Schley countian, at Milledgeville May 31. Cause of death was given as myocarditis.
Funeral services and burial were conducted there. (Hospital cemetery no. 4165)
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Charles Walker, Ty Ty,Ga., and Mrs. C.F. Green, Good Hope, Ga.; one son, Mr. Carl DeVane, Ty Ty, Ga.;one sister, Mrs. R.T. Clents, Chattanooga, Tenn.; one brother, Mr. P.H.DeVane, Aiken, S.C.; and several grandchildren.
The number post marking plots in this cemetery were removed several years ago to make landscaping easier. The exact location of a grave can not be found unless the person had a headstone that is still in place.
