Dale Edwin Schutters, Jr., was born on August 11, 1947, in Davenport, a son of Dale Schutters, Sr., and Helen (Conger) Banks. He was married to Mary E. Puente, she passed away in 2003. Dale proudly served our country in the Vietnam War, serving in the Army as a helicopter door gunner. He recalled his military service as rewarding, and truly loved being an American. Especially when it came to cars, he wouldn't imagine buying anything other than American made.

Dale worked in the Quad-City area as a cab driver for over 30 years, the last nine years with Lucky Cab. In his free time, he enjoyed movies, reading about history and playing NASCAR games on his Playstation, he truly loved to go fast! Dale also loved his boys, and held everyone he met in high regard and treated them with a professional demeanor. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Survivors include his three sons, Dale E. (Kathy) Schutters, III, Moline, Steven R. (Jodi) Schutters, and Troy "Chico" Schutters, Davenport; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Gordon Woods and Homer (Butch) Banks; a sister, Connie Banks; close friend, Butch Woods; and a favorite nephew, Anthony Weaver.
