Mr. Duren, 66, former Purcell school custodian of many years, died at McCurdy Memorial Hospital, Purcell, following an illness of several months.
A native of Checotah, OK, he married Clara Gertrude Moreland on 6 Feb 1922, in Stigler, Haskell Co., OK. They were members of the Sun Ray Baptist Church, Purcell.
He was a father to 9 children. At the time of his passing his survivors included his wife, Clara; 4 daughters and 3 sons:

Honorary bearers were: Tommy Wallace, Claude Mooney, Bert Henagar, John Smith, Charley Dawes and Lee Weeks.
