---Lloyd Elywn Cook, 84, of 14 Town and Country Trailer Court, Kirksville, Missouri passed away Saturday evening (June 8, 1991) at the Twin Pines Adult Care Center, Kirksville, where he had been a patient since May 21, 1991.
---He was born June 25, 1906 in southwest Adair County near Nind, Missouri the son of Don Curtis and Effie Lucille (Simler) Cook. On December 25, 1926 he was married to Veva May Daniels who preceded him in death on October 8, 1975. To this marriage was born one son, Donald Howard Cook who preceded him in death on April 1, 1991. On January 2, 1980 he married Esther Cochell Johnson who preceded him in death on November 16, 1989.
---He was also preceded in death by one sister, Fern Schurlock and one brother, Judd Cook.
---Surviving are one brother, Roscoe Cook of Kirksville, Missouri; four sisters, Zelma Tomich of Hollywood, California, Josephine Murdock of Kirksville, Missouri, Anita Bilello of Thibodaux, Louisiana and Alice Fair of Kirksville, Missouri; two granddaughters, Patti Bailey and Pamela Gierich; five great-grandchildren; one step-son and daughter-in-law, Earl and Phyllis Robinson of Trenton, Missouri; one step-daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Nick Nichol of Dallas, Texas and eight step-grandchildren.
---Mr. Cook was raised in Adair County where he lived all of his life except for three years (1916-1918) when a child he lived with his parents in Wyoming. He taught school for one year in a one room country school. He farmed in the Pure Air neighborhood from 1927 to 1936. He had been employed at J. Burdman Auto Parts, International Shoe Company, Hunsaker Hardware and Laughlin Hospital before retiring in 1980.
---Funeral service will be held 2:00 Tuesday afternoon (June 11, 1991) at the Davis-Playle Funeral Home with the Reverend Archie Cooper officiating. Music will be provided by Carlyle Walker singing "When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder" and "Yield Not To Temptation" accompanied by Julia Mollick, organist. Burial will be in the Pratt Cemetery, Southwest Adair County, Missouri.
---Pallbearers will be Jim Murdock, Bob Cook, Charles Kelly, Larry Harden, Carrol Harden and Harold Harden.
---Visitation is in progress with the family receiving friends from 7:00 to 9:00 Monday evening at the Davis-Playle Funeral Home, 202 East Washington, Kirksville, MO.
