Mary Nell Rogers Thaggard, 82, died July 16, 2005 at Candler Hospital. She was born in Reidsville, GA and lived in Savannah most of her life. She was retired from the Administrative Offices of the Board of Education in 1984 after 20 years of employment. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mrs. Thaggard was a great cook and was known as the "Pie Lady". She was an expert in needlework, accomplished seamstress and an avid gardener. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded death by her husband, Stephen Ray Thaggard and son, James Edward Thaggard.
Survivors: three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann T. and Jack Benton of Savannah; Sandra T. and Carson Crews of Savannah; Susan T. Connelly and Marty Johnson of Savannah; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen R. Thaggard, Jr. and Kathryn Thaggard of Savannah; two sisters, Carolyn McDaniel and her husband Leonard of Warner Robbins and Audry Baxter of Stephens, SC; five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2005 in Brewton Cemetery, Hagan, Georgia.
