William Barclay was a son of John and Ellen Barclay, the second marriage of his father. He was born in Eagle Creek, Scott Co., Minnesota near Shakopee. He migrated to Montana about 1900 and remained there till his death in 1937. He married Clara E. on 1 December 1894 in Hennepin Co., Minnesota. After Clara's death he moved to Willow Creek in Gallatin Co., Montana and was a poultry farmer. There may have been one child by the name of Foster but it does not look like he survived.
