David F. "Bud" Servine, 81, of Oakland, Neb., formerly of Sioux City, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at Merrick Manor in Fremont, Neb.
Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland. Military rites will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Ryan Post 5543 and American Legion Post 46. Arrangements are under the direction of Palmquist-Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland.
The body was donated to science.

The memorial service for David F. "Bud" Servine, 81, of
Fremont will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland.
He died Nov. 24, 2003, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
Servine was born Nov. 17, 1922, in Tekamah. He lived on a farm outside of Oakland and moved to Oakland at age 5. He graduated from Oakland High School in 1941, attended Fry Aircraft School in Omaha and then spent 10 months working at North American Aircraft in California. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from February 1942 until November 1945 and served as a weatherman in the Aleutian Islands during World War II. He returned to Oakland and worked for Northwestern Bell for two years, then worked with his father in a produce station until 1954. He purchased a men's clothing store in Oakland in 1955
and was in business for nine years. During that time, he
served on the board of directors and also as vice president of the Oakland Golf Club. He served as president for the Oakland Chamber of Commerce from 1960-61. He married Lois Richie in 1965 and moved to Sioux City, Iowa, while working for Sweet Manufacturing selling men's apparel. He then worked for the city of Sioux City for 19 years as a purchaser.
He was a 50-year member of the Masons. He was a member of the Oakland Mason's Lodge, the Mason Triangle Lodge 643 in Sioux City, Sioux City York Rite, Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, Abu Bekr Temple Shrine of Sioux City, Sioux City Mounted Patrol, High Twelve Founders Club No. 1 of Sioux City and Fremont Mason's Lodge. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Oakland and the Episcopalian Church in Sioux City. He was a 50-year member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Club in Oakland.
Survivors include a sister, Jean (Mrs. Charles) Sanders of
West Point.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
The Rev. Mark Eldal will officiate Friday's service. Military honors will be conducted by Ryan VFW Post 5543 and American Legion Post 46. Bud donated his body to the Nebraska Anatomical Board.
Memorials have been established to First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland, Oakland Heights and Oakland VFW Post 5543.
Palmquist-Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of
