Danny's actual birth name was James Arnold Conatser per 1910 census. We believe he had a step-father James STEWART and used the name James A Stewart in 1920 In Princton, Mercer Co. WVA. When Danny enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1928, a clerk typist entered his surname with a "D" instead of the "T". He was known to the older generation of his mothers family as just Arnold. It was not until the SSA of 1935 when names became codified with the U.S. government.
Daniel had several half siblings. His father, George Washington ["G.G."] Conatser, was married three times. The half sisters are Ida Belle Conatser Turpin b 1899, Anna Mae Conatser Smith,b 1913, Maude Conatser Carroll.b 1914/15, Two half brothers, James W. Conatser b 1919, Delmond Conatser b. 1926
Also Roxie Christina Conatser Smith Chambers was a daughter of Mary Jane Conatser born in Wheeling W. Va in 1911. We do not believe Roxie is a blood relative.
