S/Sgt. Blaylock died of a non-battle related illness. His unit at the time was stationed in Northern Africa in Sedrata, Algeria. Sedrata is in the province Souk Ahras.
He died at the age of 25.
The original internment site for S/Sgt. Blaylock was in Lenox Missouri which is in Dent County, at the Lexox Church. He was interned there for 5 years until he was transfered to Cedar Grove Cemetery in Salem, Missouri on June 10th 1948.
At the time of his passing he was survived by his parents, and 2 brothers, Arla and Billy. He was predeceased by a baby brother Alva Wayne Blaylock, who died in 1920 at the age of 8 months. This child is buried at Kitchen Cemetery in Lenox Missouri.
His parents, Mr. Robert Lee Blaylock and Mrs. Mary E. Blaylock would later be interned with their son at this cemetery.
