Aaron was the son of Robert Elgan Douthit & Elizabeth Bollinger.

He married Susan Alfretta Sprankle on 23 Mar 1890 in Reynoldsville, Jefferson Co., PA.

They had a family of ten children: Leonard Ellsworth; Mary Elizabeth (Foltz); Nettie Mae (Clontz); Lottie Bell (Brumbaugh); Howard Lloyd; Elsie Mildred (Clontz); Clair A.; Clyde; & two infant sons.
