Oddly the lettering on the headstone is "Buckels".
Before visiting the cemetery in October,2011 I knew that Robert's father, also named Robert was the first person buried at the IOOF Cemetery. After driving into the cemetery and not knowing where to start looking for Buckles family gravesites I headed to front row-center and there they were. I imagine all the nearby graves belong to their close neighbors that pioneered their way west and built farms and had barn raisings together. Truly rugged individuals.
