Native of Texas and wife of a Confederate veteran, Mrs. Amanda E. Hicks, 84, died Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. R. Clem, 5061 Junius Street. She was born in Sulphur Springs and had lived in Dallas about 23 years. Funeral services will be held at 3 p. m. Friday from the residence, with Dr. Sam H. Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be J. F. Parker, C. G. Peterson, R. H. Clem, J. D. Roach, E. G. Hunter, and M. G. Bramblett. Surviving are a son, M. S. Arnold and a daughter, Mrs. J. R. Clem, both of Dallas; a step-daughter, Mrs. Josie James, Pecan Gap; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
