Jack was a member of Elks Club and Rotary. No matter where he lived he was always a great supporter of high school athletics. He worked in real estate as a broker and then as an appraiser. In 1968 they purchased a cabin on Beaver Dam Lake in Cumberland which they enjoyed. In 1985 they moved into their retirement home in Cumberland, but he still kept a bit busy doing appraisals. During his lifetime he enjoyed hunting and playing golf. Not long ago they moved to a home in St. Croix Falls where Jack died peacefully on Friday, May 13, 2011, at the age of 84 years.
His parents and one brother Frank preceded him in death.
Left to mourn are his wife Lois; son Jack "Jeff" Hargrove; daughters: Jill Shuger and Jody Hargrove; four grandchildren; one great grandchild as well as other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis on Wednesday, May 18, at 10:45 a.m. The funeral procession will gather at assembly area No. 2. Military honors will be rendered.
