On Tuesday morning, December 14, God called away from earth, Mrs. William Bocking, one of Centerville's useful women. She had been a long and patient suffer who submitted bravely to the trials of her illness. Mrs. Bocking was Miss Mary Elizabeth Foster, a native of Sangamon county, Illinois, but grew up principally in Morgan county. She married John N. Means of Illinois, but was left a widow with two sons, John and Marion, of Illinois, who survive her. Seventeen years ago she married Wm. Bocking. Four years past the family located in Centerville, Miss. She had been a member of the Methodist church from early girlhood. The funeral services were held at the family residence Friday at 10 o'clock. Dr. C. F. Thomson officiated and was assisted by Rev. V. G. Clifford. The burial was in Oaklawn cemetery.
The floral offerings covered the grave and were very beautiful. Beside her husband, she is survived by her two sons and five step children. Three brothers and three sisters in Illinois also survive her.
