Mildred V. Houser, 88, of Westminster, formerly of Martinsburg, WV, died Friday, March 16,2001, at Westminster Nursing and Convalescent Center, Westminster.
Born July 24,1912, in Jefferson County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charles Franklin and Nannie Virginia Jackson Wise. She was the wife of the late Archie Tanner Houser, her husband of 51 years.
She was a 1931 graduate of Harpers Ferry High School, Harpers Ferry, WV.
She was a secretary for BlyRobinson and the Draft Board in Charles Town, WV, for 13 years before moving to Manistee, MI. While in Michigan, she was active at the First United Methodist Church, serving as secretary, and in various community groups.
She was a former member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Martinsburg, WV. She was a member of AARP and the Eastern Panhandle Travel Club.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Sue E. and Roger Starliper; sister Ethel Mae Caniford; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
She was predeceased by sisters Kathryn Rudolph and Anna Shreck.
Interment will be in Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town, W.Va.
