DAVENPORT -- Minnie M. Carlson, 86, Davenport, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at McGinnis, Chambers & Sass Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation is noon until the time of the services Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.

Minnie Letts was born April 30, 1914, in Iowa City, the youngest of 11 children born to Louis and Lucy (Pepler) Letts. She married Melvin L. Carlson in Muscatine, Iowa, on Oct. 15, 1935. He preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 1973.

Minnie was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, watching television and collecting teddy bears.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport, where she was a member.

Survivors include several grandchildren; other distant relatives; and many friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son and 10 sisters and brothers.
