To my knowledge there is no conclusive proof that Johannes is buried in this cemetery; however, circumstantial evidence suggests this is his final resting place. On 18 September 1815, Jehu Stout and Sarah Stout, his wife, sold 97.5 acres of land to John Roose, in Section 20, being the northwest corner, "exclusive of one acre and 59/100 which is included but not confirmed to John Roose, laid off for the use of a graveyard." This land is mentioned again on 14 February 1828, when Frederick Roose Jr. and Barbara (Kolb) his wife sell land which had been deeded to them by John Roose and Franey (Wolgemuth) Roose, his wife, in 1821, "exclusive of a graveyard." The cemetery is located directly north of the village of New Waterford in Unity Twp.
