William was born in Germany. He and his wife emigrated to the US landing in New Orleans in 1854. They first went to Tennessee then on to Indiana and finally settling in Chehalis, Washington in the latter part of of 1880s.* He opened and operated Wibra Florist which his son George and then his granddaughter Mary Cloud continued. He was an member of I.O.O.F. and practiced the tenets of that organization. He was active member in the German Lutheran church. In his obituary it speaks of his many acts of kindness and the rememberance of them. His granddaughter Charlotte Bacon spoke of spending time with her Grandparents not as a duty but as a joy.
Their children were Elizabeth M. Walter, Samantha M. Hatton, Minnie Cloud, William H. Wibra and George I. Wibra.
