He was born April 15, 1941, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Ernest Parley Terry and Bernice White
Siepert Terry. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls, and graduated from Idaho Falls High School.
On April 28, 1960, he married Gayle Rae DaBell in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Idaho Falls, where he worked at J & R Plumbing & Heating. He owned and operated Terry Plumbing & Heating until his retirement. Following his retirement, they moved to
Gilbert, Ariz., where he lived until returning to Idaho Falls because of his illness.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as executive secretary, Elders' Quorum secretary, in the Young Men's presidency, and as a temple worker for 16 years. He was a member of the Bonneville County Planning & Zoning Board. Dale loved riding motorcycles, running a motorcycle race track, sports and his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Gayle Rae Terry of Gilbert, Ariz.; his children, Kathryn (Terry) McNamara of Iona, Michael Dale (Sandy) Terry of Chandler, Ariz., Christine (Michael) Taggart of Gilbert, Ariz., and Todd Alan (Mindy) Terry of Mesa, Ariz.; brother, Lynn Terry of Boise; sisters, Evelyn (Larry) Miller, Sharon (Ken) Alberts and Wanda Aber, all of Idaho Falls; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Eugene Aber; and sister-in-law, Mim Terry.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at the Idaho Falls LDS Brentwood Ward, 2040 Brentwood Drive, with John Nielsen, a former bishop of the Brentwood Ward, officiating. The family will visit with friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. in Idaho Falls, and for one hour Tuesday before services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
