EAST LAKE - Andrew L. Ambrose, 16, and Dell Marcell Ambrose, 22, brothers, drowned Friday, Nov. 23, 1984, when their car overturned near Mill Tail Creek, East Lake.

Both natives of Virginia Beach, Virginia, they were the sons of Delbert Marcell (Corkey) and Mrs. Illa Cahoon Ambrose of East Lake.

Andrew had resided in East Lake most of his life. He was a junior at Manteo High School and a member of the East Lake Holiness Church.

Dell had recently moved to East Lake. He was employed with Ambrose and Spruill Masonry and was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Christ of Virginia Beach.

Andrew and Dell are survived by their two sisters, Mrs. Wendy Leigh Hemilright and Mrs. Nancy Louise Craddock, both of Manns Harbor.

A double funeral was held Monday in the Twiford Colony Chapel in Manteo by the Rev. Richard Blevins of Virginia Beach. Burial followed in the East Lake United Methodist Church Cemetery.
