The history of an old dining table is given. The table was owned by Matthew Galt and was used to serve food to George and Martha Washington on his visit to Taneytown. The table was inherited by Mrs. Rebecca Shunk on Matthew's death and at her death, her husband, Benjamin Shunk, became its owner. At his death, the old table became the property of his son-in-law, John McKellip.
According to contributor #47193132, who submitted much of this information, Rebecca Galt married George Grayson on 15 Feb 1825. George died on 22 April 1828. She married Benajmin Shunk on 12 Feb 1831. No children are as yet identified from the marriage of George and Rebecca.
