Doris "Dot" Abercrombie Pitts, 82, of Laurelwood in Laurens, SC, passed away May 11, 2011, at Laurens County Hospital in Clinton, SC.

Born in Laurens County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Broadus and Geneva Wood Abercrombie. She was a member of Laurens Pentecostal Holiness Church. Dot worked as a canteen operator at Ware Shoals Mill and later worked at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Center.

Surviving are three nephews, John Hughes, Jr. and wife, Shirley of Laurens, SC, Mike Hughes and wife, Lynn of Spartanburg, SC, and Rodger Butler and wife, Crystal of Laurens, SC; a brother-in-law, Raymond Butler of Laurens, SC; nine great-nieces and nephews including, Michelle Penland, Amber Butler, Jessica Butler, John Hughes, III, and Brent Hughes; and ten great-great-nieces and nephews including, Caleb Penland, Luke Penland, and Cohen Hughes.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Irene Hughes and Betty Butler.
