BELFAST - Sidney M. Hodgdon, 83, died at a local hospital April 8, 1980. He was born in Massachsuetts Dec. 20, 1897, son of the late Oscar and Cora Hodgdon. He worked for many years in Bayside as caretaker for the Pingree Estate. He is survived by his son, Edward Hodgdon Sr. of Searsport; five daughters, Hazel Staples, June Bailey and Shriley Bailey of Belfast, Johanna Cox and Orrie Olson, both of California; his brother, Ira Hodgdon of Florida; his sister, Doris Hills of Camden; 28 grandchidlren, 27 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Coombs Funeral Home of Belfast on Thursday, April 10, 7-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the fuenral home on April 11 at 1 p.m. with teh Rev. Jack Diamond officiating.
