Dennis M. Royalty, 78, of Frankfort, who had a lengthy career as a personnel manager for companies in Indiana and several other states, died November 29 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

The Bloomington native also had lived in Indianapolis and Westfield. Though he spent much of his professional life in Indiana, holding executive positions in cities including Indianapolis, Frankfort and Delphi, he also worked in Ohio, Colorado and Illinois. He retired in the 1980s as a manager for Stephens-Adamson in Aurora, Illinois.

Mr. Royalty held personnel or management posts for RCA and P.R. Mallory in Indianapolis, Federal Mogul in Frankfort, where he helped open the former National Seal factory in the 1960s, and at Delphi Body Works in Delphi.

He was an active volunteer and official for civic and community organizations. Among them were the Boy Scouts of America, Junior Achievement and the American Red Cross. He organized numerous blood drives and personally donated gallons of blood during his lifetime.

Mr. Royalty was a graduate of Bloomington High School and Indiana University. He served in the United States Air Force from 1943-46.

He was the company spokesman for labor negotiations in many instances, reaching contract agreement with unions including the United Auto Workers. In the 1960s he worked for Martin- Marietta in Denver, Colorado, a contractor for the aerospace program.

Mr. Royalty participated extensively in chambers of commerce at Frankfort, Niles (Ohio), and at Aurora (Ill.) where he also was past president of the Valley Personnel Association and an active participant in prayer breakfast meetings. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

He was a distinguished past president of Kiwanis and a speaker and panelist for numerous business conferences at high schools, colleges and universities.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Kathleen (Barnhart) Royalty of Frankfort; sons, Dennis Michael Royalty of Fishers and David A. Royalty of Frankfort; daughters-in-law, Ginger Royalty of Fishers and Jeni Royalty of Frankfort; granddaughters, Amanda Royalty of Frankfort and Kelsey Royalty of Fishers; and grandsons, Andrew Royalty of Fishers, a student at Purdue University, and Daniel Royalty of Frankfort.

Services will be 6 p.m. Tuesday at Amanda Reid Memorial Chapel, Wesley Manor, in Frankfort. Burial will be at Clear Creek Cemetery in Bloomington, where graveside services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wayside Cross Rescue Mission at Aurora, Ill., or to a donor's favorite charity.

Census indicated Henry wa born in Kentucky and Lois in Indiana. Henry is employed as a fireman at the Steam Railroad. Children living in the home were Majorie(17) and Dennis(16) Royalty. Also in the home was Deam Malicote, age 33 a lodger employed as a waitress at a hotel.
