She was a member of First Baptist Church and was retired from Citizen Union Bank.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin Dee and Geneva Daugherty Hunley; sisters, Viola Archer, Opal Greer, Gladys Tilson and Etta Lee Hayes; and brothers, Hale Hunley and Dale Hunley.
She is survived by her husband, J. Frederick Russell Sr. of the home; a daughter, Ann DeWitte and husband Mark, Rogersville; a son, J. Frederick "Rick" Russell Jr., Rogersville; four grandchildren, Sarah Clark, Dustin Russell, Alec Russell and Drew Russell, all of Rogersville; three sisters, Ressie Britton and Jo Trent, both of Rogersville, and Helen Davis, Kingsport.
Calling hours will be 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2001, at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville.
Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2001, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Eugene Hageman officiating. Grave-side services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2001, at Highland Cemetery.
