GRAY: Claude Carlilse Comer, 86, of Highway 18 East, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011, at his residence.
Mr. Comer was born March 05, 1925, in Jones County and was the son of the late Durwood Comer and Roberta Childs Comer.
He was educated in Jones County Schools and he honorably served his country with the United States Navy, where he received the victory medal and the American Theater Ribbon. Mr. Comer was retired from Tri-County EMC after forty years of service and was enjoyed farming. He loved to hunt and fish and especially loved their Fourth of July fish fry.
Mr. Comer was preceded in death by his sons: David Comer and Johnny Comer; three sisters and five brothers.
Mr. Comer is survived by his loving wife of thirty-one years: Catherine Beasley Harrell Comer; daughter and son-in-law: Cheryl and Buddy Reedy; step-son and step-daughter-in-law: Allen and Linda Harrell; step-daughter and step-son-in-law: Teresa and Randy Henry; five grandchildren; five step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Lois Comer; and by several nieces, nephews and many special friends.
