Gaylord L. Clawson, 88, of Grand Island died Feb. 18, 2011, at the Nebraska Veterans Home in Grand Island.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Chapel of the Nebraska Veterans Home with the Rev. Bill Forbes officiating. Burial will be in the Burkett Cemetery, Grand Island with military honors provided by the Grand Island United Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service time on Monday at the Nebraska Veterans Home. Apfel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Clawson was born Jan. 6, 1923, in Milford to John T. and Alice Hatcliff Clawson.

He received his education in Grafton. He entered the United States Navy, Aug. 26, 1944, serving in the Pacific Theaters until June 14, 1946 when he was honorable discharged. He returned to Nebraska where he farmed.

Survivors include a host of friends.
