Anton is the older brother of Frank Biebel. Year of birth is approximately 1841. Anton served in the Civil War - Co. H, 9th Wisconsin Infantry, returned to Green Bay, married and begana family. He died as the result of an accidental fall from a wagonload of shingles. He was interred at Allouez Catholic Cemetery near his grandparents, Joseph and Eva (Schurgeren) Biebel. Any monument for Joseph and Eva no longer exists, and cemetery records were lost in a fire in 1916. Anton's grave is marked with a Civil War Veteran's white marble monument. Due to vandalism in the cemetery, the Anton's monument was moved across the road north of the red brick chapel. The monument is now placed in the plot of another family, but due to the loss of records in a fire and the absence of any monument for Joseph and Eva Biebel, it is not possible to determine the actual location of Anton's actual grave. Any family members that would have been able to identify the correct gravesite are no longer living. Note that the surname is incorrectly spelled "Bibel" on Anton's Civil War Veteran's monument.
